"Junai no Crescendo" - AKB48

March 23, 2010

I'm currently going through an AKB48 phase. Their new album comes out next month, but on the same day as when the in-laws fly out :(

I discovered this song while watching their JCB Shuffle Concert, and I love it. Can't find a proper version without the crowd singing along though.

UPDATE: Fixed video link - it's the SKE48 version, but just as good.

Jason McElwain - Autistic Basketball Player

March 04, 2010

I've watched this clip several times over the years and it never ceases to impress me. When given the chance, humans can do some remarkable things, and its a good thing that the Internet is here to capture it.

Of course, the Internet also records the absolute worst that humanity has to offer too, but today's not the day for that.

"Return of the Mack" - Mark Morrison

March 02, 2010

I once had a manager whose name was Mark Morrison. He received an email one day from a random stranger on the Internet asking him when his next album was coming out. The Mark I know is a nerdy white dude. The 'real' Mark is shown above - the two couldn't be any more different.

"Imma Hot Cheeto" - Tigga Hoods

February 26, 2010

I think the only people that Tiger Woods has to apologise to are his wife and his kids. He doesn't owe the public anything. That said, the public does have the right to make jokes about him, and thus I share this video. Contains a sample of Survivor's 'Eye of the Tiger', and used to good effect too.

"Monkey & Sardine" - Martin Martini (Dir. Jim Batt)

February 25, 2010

Martin Martini - Monkey & Sardine from Jim Batt on Vimeo.

Jim Batt, fellow member of Collective Noun Filmworks (though he doesn't admit to that anymore) made this stop-motion music video. I'm a sucker for any song involving monkeys, and I like the water effect (which I think is cellophane).

“Oh!” - Girls Generation

February 23, 2010

Let’s start my new era of regular posts with a video (which I will do most often from now on). Girls Generation (or SNSD – the abbreviation of their Korean name) is a girl pop group from South Korea. They’re like Morning Musume from Japan, except perhaps a little bit older, though I can’t actually tell. As far as catchy pop songs go, this one works for me.
